Our flat-fee package for new nonprofits is designed to make the formation and tax exemption application process as simple, uncomplicated and hassle and worry-free as possible for our clients. It is an A-to-Z process. Once we have the information we need, we do all the rest.

With our Nonprofit Startup Service, we do the following:

  • Determine the proper exemption classification for your organization under both state and federal law.
  • Reserve the name of your choice for the corporation.
  • Prepare Articles of Incorporation.
  • Prepare Bylaws specifically designed to meet the goals and governance needs of the organization.
  • Prepare and file its federal (IRS) application for tax exempt status, including all necessary and advisable attachments.
  • Prepare and file its state application for tax exempt status, including all necessary and advisable attachments.
  • Provide guidance on the selection of board members.
  • Obtain the new corporation's Federal Employer Identification Number.
  • Provide forms for, and assistance with, the new corporation's organizational or first meeting of directors, including the formalities it needs to commence business (even prior to obtaining tax exempt – or nonprofit – status).
  • Assist with preparing a budget projection for the new corporation.
  • Respond to any inquiries from the IRS or state officials reviewing your exemption applications.
  • Provide unlimited telephone consultation with an attorney who specializes in nonprofit to address any questions you have regarding any of the above.
  • Provide articles and other information to address issues as directors' fiduciary duty, taxation on unrelated business income and others that generally are of importance to nonprofits.
  • Maintain a dedicated, clients only web site with a wealth of information to assist your organization as it begins its operations in earnest.
